Robby Sours wins Thomas G. Nelson Award

The HPHA and Coach Jeff Lewin recognized Robby Sours with the Thomas G. Nelson Award last night at a team dinner for the Varsity team.  "The Thomas G. Nelson Award honors a player who has positively impacted the Varsity team as a role model both on and off the ice, a mentor, a motivator, and an encourager.  The recipient is a young man who is respected by his teammates and who has demonstrated effective leadership of the team. Named after Tommy Nelson, the first captain of the Highland Park Varsity High School team, who exhibited these skills."  Coach Lewin said that Robby Sours lives up to every word of the description of the award.

Christopher Hickey wins The Champion of Character Award

The HPHA and Coach Lewin recognized Christopher Hickey as the winner of The Champion of Character Award last night at the Varsity team dinner.  "The Champion of Character Award honors a Varsity player for extraordinary character in pursuing victory with honor and exemplary sportsmanship.  The basic traits of good character are respect, responsibility, accountability, fairness, caring, integrity, and citizenship."  Coach Lewin said that Christopher is a very deserving recipient of this award because he exhibits these traits year after year for the team.

JV Scots Win Summer Opener!

2020 JV Summer Hockey

The JV Scots opened their 2020 Summer season with a big win vs Coppell, 8-1!  The Scots scoring was led by Andrew Brinkman, Robert Means, and Trevor Coffin with 2 goals each, and Cade Brekken, and Hudson Haasz with a goal apiece.  Jake Romine and Beckett Thomas also logged an assist each.  Great job to all the players for a great team win to start the season!

Next game is against Northwest on Sunday, June 28 at 1:45p at the Euless rink.
